How I Craft Your Wedding Film
A Natural and Discreet Filming Style
One of the most important aspects of my approach is being as unobtrusive as possible. I don’t believe in large, bulky equipment or overly staged moments. Instead, I shoot handheld, allowing me to move freely and react quickly to moments as they happen. This ensures I capture genuine interactions—those quiet smiles, meaningful glances, and spontaneous laughter between loved ones. The beauty of this approach is that most of the time, couples and guests don’t even realise they’re being filmed, resulting in a truly natural and organic feel to the footage.
A Two-Film Approach: The Best of Both Worlds
I offer two films for each wedding: a 3-5 minute highlight film and a 15-20 minute extended film.
The shorter highlight film is where I let my creativity shine. It’s a visually engaging, emotionally driven piece that encapsulates the essence of the day in a way that feels cinematic and artistic. Here, I play with pacing, music, and visual storytelling to create something that instantly takes you back to how the day felt.
The extended film, on the other hand, follows a more chronological structure. This ensures that nothing is missed—every key moment, from the morning preparations to the first dance, is captured and pieced together in a way that tells the full story of your wedding day. This structure allows couples to relive their entire day, from the anticipation of getting ready to the joy of celebrating with family and friends.
Together, these two films provide the perfect balance—one that’s creative and emotional, and another that’s comprehensive and timeless.
The Importance of Music in My Films
Music has always been a huge passion of mine, and it plays an essential role in my wedding films. The right soundtrack can transform a beautiful sequence of images into something deeply moving and immersive.
I spend a significant amount of time curating the perfect music for each film, ensuring that it reflects the couple’s personalities, the mood of the day, and the overall atmosphere of the film. No two couples are the same, so no two soundtracks should be either. The music selection process is incredibly important to me because it helps set the tone, evoke emotion, and create a rhythm that complements the visuals seamlessly.
Getting to Know You: A Personalised Approach
A wedding film should feel like an extension of the couple it represents, which is why I place so much importance on getting to know my couples from the very first interaction. When you enquire with me, we’ll arrange an introductory call where I take the time to learn about you—your personalities, your story, and what matters most to you on your wedding day.
This helps me tailor my approach to suit your dynamic, ensuring that the film I create is not just a wedding video, but a true reflection of who you are as a couple. Some couples prefer a more intimate, slow-paced feel to their film, while others want something upbeat and full of energy. By understanding what’s important to you, I can craft a film that genuinely feels like yours.
Capturing the Moments That Matter
One of the reasons I love wedding videography is the ability to preserve moments that might otherwise be forgotten. Photos capture still frames, but video captures movement, sound, and emotion in a way that’s truly immersive. From the way a couple looks at each other during the vows to the laughter shared between guests during the speeches, every detail matters.
I make it my mission to focus on these seemingly small but incredibly meaningful moments. They’re the ones you’ll cherish most when looking back on your film in years to come. Whether it’s a tear rolling down a parent’s cheek, the nervous excitement before walking down the aisle, or the energy of the dance floor, I ensure every part of your day is preserved beautifully.
A Wedding Film That’s Entirely Yours
At the end of the day, my goal is to create something that is more than just a wedding video—it’s a timeless keepsake, a piece of art, and a true representation of your love story. By combining a discreet and natural filming style with a deep understanding of your unique story, I craft films that feel personal, powerful, and meaningful.
Every couple’s journey is different, and that’s what makes my work so special. Your wedding film isn’t just about capturing an event; it’s about preserving a feeling, an atmosphere, and a collection of memories that you can relive for a lifetime.
